Slack as IDP for distributed startup governance is a dream of mine.

I've worked with at least a dozen startups (or startup-like teams at larger corporations) in the last 3 years who use Slack as their "commons".

The common denominator in all of them?

Async chat is the hub where work gets done, for contractors and employees.

This means Slack in 90% of the cases, and in the others either discord, teams or (rarely) keybase.

For one widely distributed team where slack was our hub, I wondered: can I make Slack our IdP?

Today I'm happy to share: yes you can, with the power of Slack + Cloudflare One (formerly Zero Trust), you can roll out a DNS-level protection of resources with a non-tech-company friendly model.
